Position Opportunity:

We seek a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team working semi remotely from our Dublin office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing electrical engineering and instrumentation design, development, and implementation of E&I Systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both disciplines.
  • Lead Design and Development of Electrical and Instrumentation Systems for Process Projects.
  • Define Capital Project E&I requirements and coordinate with client, vendors and contractors
  • Prepare detailed project scopes for process manufacturing area requests applying value engineering.
  • Manage Electrical and Instrumentation design throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, - mechanical and software engineering integrating electrical and instrumentation systems into overall project designs.
  • Evaluate and identify Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) installations and improvements
  • Conduct detailed analysis and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation issues.
  • Design focus on safety, schedule, and cost management
  • Coordination with construction management and equipment vendors
  • Process data for Instrument and Electrical data sheets, selection of instruments
  • Complying with good engineering practices, company policies and applicable regulations and codes.
  • Assist in aspects of project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Identify electrical requirements for the related electrical loads
  • Participation in Technical and Safety reviews, HAZOP and FMEA facilitation.
  • Develop specifications including URS, FRS, control philosophy, FDS and other project and process documentation.
  • Supporting the head of department in the preparation of technical proposals.
  • Installation supervision and support during commissioning of the installed items/systems.
  • Change control. QMS systems compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in all aspects of electrical and instrumentation design and implementation.

Qualifications, Experience/ Skill Requirements:

  • 10+ yearsexperience in electrical and Instrumentation engineering design of large scale capital process and industrial projects within the following sectors including Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Semiconductor, Food and Beverage.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design Software and digital project delivery tools such as EPLAN, Revit, AutoCAD, Smart Plant Instrumentation or similar tools
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles - sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP / non-GMP, Process Manufacturing and Utility Systems
  • Experience of PLC programming and industrial automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of industry specific Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and practices
  • Commercially aware of project execution and change control
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
